Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TrendBot Android application ("the App") developed by Digital Disconnections ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

TrendBot is a Reddit trend-tracking application that monitors publicly available Reddit post data to surface posts gaining viral momentum. The App operates entirely on your device — there is no backend server, no user accounts, and no cloud sync. It accesses Reddit's public API directly from your device.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use TrendBot only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the App to violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to circumvent, hack, or interfere with the App's operation or any third-party service it accesses
• Use the App to scrape, aggregate, or redistribute Reddit content in violation of Reddit's Terms of Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except to the extent permitted by applicable law
• Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair Reddit's servers or the Reddit API

3. Reddit API and Content

TrendBot reads publicly available data from Reddit's API on your behalf. The App does not require a Reddit account and does not access private or account-restricted content. You acknowledge that:

• Reddit content is owned by its respective creators and is subject to Reddit's Terms of Service
• TrendBot does not claim ownership of any Reddit content displayed in the App
• Your use of Reddit content accessed through the App must comply with Reddit's Terms of Service and any applicable copyright or licensing terms
• We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit

4. In-App Purchases

TrendBot Pro

TrendBot Pro is available as a one-time purchase of $1.99 USD through the Google Play Store. This purchase unlocks additional features including unlimited subreddit tracking, faster poll intervals, background alerts, AI analysis integration, and extended post history.

Purchase Terms

• Purchases are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google's payment terms
• The Pro upgrade is a one-time payment — not a subscription
• The Pro license is tied to your Google Play account and can be restored on reinstall through Play's standard purchase restoration
• Refund requests are handled through Google Play's standard refund policy

No Warranties on Pro Features

Pro features are provided as-is. We may add, modify, or remove features in future updates, though we will not remove core Pro functionality without notice.

5. Optional AI Features

TrendBot Pro includes optional AI-powered post analysis using Google Gemini or OpenAI. To use this feature, you must provide your own API key from the respective AI provider. By enabling this feature:

• You are responsible for obtaining and paying for your own AI API access
• Your API key is stored on-device only and used solely to make API calls from your device to your chosen AI provider
• Your use of AI services is governed by the terms of your AI provider (Google or OpenAI), not by these Terms
• We are not responsible for AI-generated content or for API costs incurred through your key

6. Disclaimer of Liability for Reddit Content

TrendBot displays publicly available Reddit post data — titles, scores, timestamps, and related metadata. We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, legality, or appropriateness of any Reddit content displayed in the App. We are not responsible for:

• The accuracy or truthfulness of Reddit posts or comments
• Content that is offensive, misleading, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Actions you take based on trends or content surfaced by the App
• Changes to Reddit's API that affect the App's functionality

7. Intellectual Property

The TrendBot application, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by Digital Disconnections and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on your Android device for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of the App without our written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DIGITAL DISCONNECTIONS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (IF ANY).

10. Termination

We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. If the App is discontinued, your license to use it terminates. We may also terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles.
